Benoy’s Shanghai studio: six months on
Benoy’s relocated Shanghai LUMINA West Bund Centre studio continues to thrive following its opening back in August last year.
The space, which was designed by our Shanghai Interiors team, takes inspiration from the natural world, presenting a verdant, light-filled workshop where design thinking can take place.
The studio features three thematic zones organised around the principles of creativity, collaboration and wellness. The Gallery displays past projects, awards and artworks, functioning as both a reception space and gathering space for studio-wide meetings. The Living Room forms the social hub of the studio. A large communal desk and bar-style seating create a more home-like interior, which encourages collaboration in a relaxed setting. Finally, the Workshop provides space for practical innovation with a 3D printer, library and model-making space. The studio features plants and a neutral green palette throughout, making it a calming place to focus and reconnect.
The space exists as a hub where ideas migrate and inform one another, connecting seamlessly to Benoy studios worldwide.
Commenting, Qin Pang, Director, Head of Shanghai Studio said: “At Benoy, we’re proud to take this next step in our journey, having had a presence in Shanghai since 2008. We carry forward our legacy while drawing on years of experience in creating thoughtful, integrated solutions for complex urban mixed-use projects. We’re committed to addressing the new challenges our cities face, embracing change, and working across every layer of the urban environment. Our new studio is designed with sustainability, people, and fresh ways of working at its heart. This is our way of responding, in a tangible and everyday sense, to the evolving needs of the city.”
